1. Text formatting
* Note: the font will always be Helvetica.
a) Title, authorship, institutional affiliation, contact and financing institution
– Title: Helvetica, 14, Round, Bold, Upper Case, Centered.
– Authorship: Helvetica, 12, Round, Small capital (Versalita), Centered [To be added at the request of the editorial board after acceptance of the article].
– Institution: Helvetica, 12, Round, Centered [To be added at the request of the editorial board after acceptance of the article].
– E-mail: Helvetica, 12, Round, Centered [To be added at the request of the editorial board after acceptance of the article].
– Financing institution: Helvetica, 10, Round, Justified [To be added at the request of the editorial board after acceptance of the article].
b) Abstract and keywords
* The article will have two abstracts and two keyword selections:
1. First, the abstract and keyword selection will appear in the language in which the article is written.
2. Second, the abstract and keyword selection will appear in a second language. If the article is written in a language other than Spanish, the second abstract and the second selection of keywords must appear in this language. If the article is written in Spanish, the preferred language for these two sections will be English, without prejudice to the use of another language of the journal in its place.
– Abstract: each one of them will have a maximum length of 200 words. Helvetica, 12, Round, Justified.
– Keywords: a minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords are required in each language, separated by commas. Helvetica, 12, Round, Justified.
c) Section Heading
* Up to three section headings will be admitted and Arabic numerals will always be used.

d) Body of the article, paragraphs and footnotes
– Body text font: Helvetica, 12, Round, Justified
– The first paragraph of each section of the article will be separated by a line from the title and will not be indented.
– From the second paragraph of each section, an indent will be entered on the first line of each section with the Tab key.
– Footnotes: their use will be limited to the maximum and they will never be used to make bibliographical references that should be placed in the body of the article and/or in the section Works cited.
2. In-Text Citations
– In-Text citations will follow the following format: (Author’s last name(s), year: page number).
Example: (González Martínez, 1999: 82).
– Up to two authors: (Surname[s] of author 1 and Surname[s] of author 2, year: page number).
Example: (García González and Pérez Gómez, 1999: 7).
– Up to three authors: (Surname[s] of author 1, Surname[s] of author 2 and Surname[s] of author 3, year: page number).
Example: (García González, Pérez Gómez and Sánchez Gómez, 2005: 4).
– More than three authors: (Surname[s] of author 1 et al., year, page number).
Example: (García et al., 2008: 45).
– Two or more references within the same parenthesis, they will appear in chronological order and separated by a semicolon (;): (Surname[s] of the author of the first reference, year: page number; Surname[s] of the author of the second reference, year: page number).
Example: (Sánchez Gómez, 1987: 71; Pérez García, 2010: 14).
a) Short quotations
– A short quotation is considered to be one that does not exceed 40 words or three lines. It will be incorporated in the text between Spanish quotes ().

– The omission of a part of the text in the literal quotation will be made by means of square brackets, which will enclose three consecutive points […].

b) Long quotations
– A long quotation is considered to be one that is longer than 40 words or three lines. It will be separated from the text with a blank line before and after it.

– If an author or several authors have more than one entry published the same year, they will be ordered according to the alphabetical order established by the title. To differentiate them, a letter of the alphabet is added after the year in descending order and in lower case. Each one of them will start with the complete surname.

– If the surname includes a particle (e.g. «de» in «Juan Manuel de Prada»), this will be placed after the initial of the first name and not as part of the surname.

Submissions
The authors will send their works to contacto@lasdesconocidas.com. The subject of the email will indicate: “Review” or «Article submission» and two attachments will be submitted in Word format. One of them will include the name and affiliation of the author and another will not have these or any other mention of the authorship of the text. The name of the first file will be “the title of the article” and the second “the name of the article (anonymous)”.
